LAKE NANIJUP FOR SOME R AND R AT CHRISTMAS

And here we are at Lake Nanijup about 26km from Cranbrook. But first things first, Karen you've got the right idea!

It's important to follow all directions, Karen thought it was important for me to stand under this particular sign

Here's a photo of some of our friends we met at the lake.

And a nice photo of a lovely couple

Here's sunrise over the lake

Karen inspecting some flora at the lake. Karen reckons with a bit of TLC this one might be saved.

Another top shot

Yellow plant

And it's Christmas by the lake looking forward to lots of presents from Santa.

First full moon on Christmas night since 1977

Amazing wildflowers!

Simply sparkling!

Look who popped in for a couple of drinks what a night we had!

AND IT'S TIME TO HIT THE ROAD

A SHORT STAY AT GREENBUSHES WITH SOME LIKABLE CHARACTERS

An interesting visit to the mine site just about blew us off the hill

They built this cage especially for us

Here I am holding onto my hat

A look inside the Greenbushes gaol

Several old unused mine shafts are scattered throughout the bush here at Greenbushes

Good to see the Royal Life Saving Resuscitation chart on display at the Greenbushes Swimming pool!  Great spot!

They spent some money on a very nice boardwalk around the swimming pool

And for those of you that have an eye for antiques Mark (the store owner not me) at the Greenbushes Antique Store has a fantastic collection of stuff from vinyl records to old radios and gramophones. Worth a look
SORRY NO PICTURES

After a good night of bush tucker it's time to entertain the local kids who come out in droves to watch me sing.

Ahhh after a good feed of bush tucker and a cool beverage from the Coolgardie fridge we settled down for an evening of stories of the bush.

It's important that when you are eating bush tucker that you know exactly what it is that you are eating. It was just fortunate that with my wealth of knowledge of forest tucker I know which foods Karen could put on the table, and what a feast we had.

This fury little friend was caught singing a little serenade we think calling the rest of the family that it was safe to proceed.  This forest wren is around a quarter the weight of a household mouse, so is affectionately known as forest mice.

This is Wrights Bridge. You can see the remnants of the old bridge that was build in the 1800's. Interestingly the floods of 1982 took flood waters over 6 feet above the new bridge, that's alot of water!

This little devil packs a punch way above its weight, try not to let him latch onto your toe!

When you're running low on water you need to improvise

.... and build big muscles carrying it back to camp.

On the Blackwood
 Ohhh look a mermaid!

Off to Donnybrook today 11/12/15 to stay a night in the caravan park cause the dust is playing havoc with me little eyes :(
Nice walk down to the river which I don't think has run for some time.

Left Dwellingup on Tuesday 8th and headed for Ironstone Gully Falls between Capel and Donnybrook. Pretty good spot but plenty of dust from the iron in the ground that this place is made of.

Still in Dwellingup and trying to get handy with my camera

Friendly Visitor

Looking very thirsty with big ass claws :)

First day at Dwellingup start of our adventures Yeeeehaaaa! :) Everything went great we're going to stay here for a week or two to sort things out especially the stuff we threw into the back of the car when we left home. Only a couple of backpackers here with us at the moment.
