WALLAMAN FALLS

We camp at the Ashton Hotel the night before we head up to see Wallaman Falls, Australia's tallest single drop water fall.

Oh yes just call me Heisenberg! Don't mess with Heisenberg!

Hahahaha

The Ashton Hotel where we camped and caught up with our good friends and neighbours from home!

Now that's one shady tree!

And here is our camp with Clarrie and Val

Catching up for a light beverage or two or three.....

The next morning feeling right as rain.  Cane farming and the mountains in the background

So we head out up the long winding mountain side road.  The view nearing to the top.

and another

The water at Wallaman Falls drops a massive 268 metres which in the old measure is around 879 feet and the pool depth is around 20 metres.

Amazing

Again

Pictures just don't do it justice

Here's a video from the top to give you an idea

We decide to make the long 2.5 hour return trek to the base.  I asked Karen to count the steps but she wouldn't

On the way down

A view about 15 minutes from the base

Closer

And the sun decided to poke its head around the corner and the fall gave up this beautiful rainbow at the base of the picture

Here we are at the base

Inspiring

And a video of the base wonderful stuff!

And we head back to camp and tomorrow hit the road
